The terror attacks in Brussels, Belgium are sending shockwaves throughout Europe today. In London, Warner Bros. has altered plans for tonight’s premiere of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.
While a screening of the film will still take place at Leicester Square, according to The Hollywood Reporter, the studio has canceled the red carpet.
“Our hearts go out to the victims of recent terrorist attacks, their families and the communities impacted around the world,” WB said in a statement. “Rather than yield to terror, we’ve decided to join the film’s fans and move forward with the London premiere of Batman v Superman this evening.”
A large amount of security is already on hand for tonight’s screening; one security guard told THR that the turnout is expected to exceed the London premiere of Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
